TAILGATE OR GO HOME
We’ve been waiting all summer for this one…
College football has FINALLY kicked off, and the NFL joins the party this weekend.
You know what that means…
It means the parking lot is now the most important kitchen in town. Tailgating season is short and glorious. Do not waste a single Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, Dead Meat Society.
To help everyone make the most of tailgate szn, allow us to present the DMS three-part battle plan.
GAME PREP
Even the budget experts agree that the secret to a successful tailgate is doing most of the work at home. This guide to tailgating on a budget says to prep everything the night before.
Sides can be ready in the cooler, and even some great meats don’t require taking the full smoker out to the stadium.
Make your plan and get ready in advance.
THE GRILL
You still need iron in the parking lot on the big day.
Lucky for us, Southern Living tested eight portable grills and named the Weber Traveler the best overall. You know, that little fold-up that can cook ten burgers.
For the smoke crowd, the Traeger Tailgater took the pellet spot, so you may want to look into picking one up.
THE MEAT
Sides are fine, but we came for protein.
Out of this stack of 31 tailgate grilling recipes, we keep thinking about the bacon-wrapped hot dogs, because wrapping anything in bacon is never the wrong call…
But if you remember nothing else this season, remember this:
Football comes around once a year.
It’s our duty to make every weekend count.
Get the right gear, make the right plan, and cook the right meat, DMS. You got this.

Like the memes you send back and forth in your group chat, except these won’t get you canceled. Oh, and lots more grill marks.
